SLASHDØG is a web novel written by Ichiei Ishibumi. The series resolves around Tobio Ikuse, a normal high school student who gets caught up in a series of mysterious events. This was released on August 2006, however, due to the lack of popularity, only one volume was released before being cancelled. In 2014, Ishibumi reinstated SLASHDØG under the name "Dog God of the Fallen -SLASHDØG-" and is a prequel that takes place years before the start of High School DxD. |

Before the start of a school trip, Tobio Ikuse caught a severe fever leaving him incapable of attending the trip on the luxury liner named "Heavenly of Aloha" with his classmates and Sae Toujou. Four days later, he had heard on the news about the odd disappearance of both the teachers and second-year students on the liner devastating him. Months after the incident, Tobio was recovering from the shock of losing his friends, but he soon encounters one of them again by accident. Chasing after his missing friend, Sasaki, Tobio caught up with him but was shocked to see Sasaki with a lizard monster and ordered it to attack him. Once cornered by the monster, Tobio was soon rescued by another survivor of the missing liner, Natsume Minagawa who controlled a hawk, which killed the lizard monster. Afterwards, Tobio was handed an egg by Natsume before the two parted ways. Later that night, he found himself under attack again this time by two other students with monsters, amidst all of that, out of Tobio's shadow came a black puppy who rescued him. After fending off the two monsters, Natsume once again approaches Tobio and decides to bring him to their hideout. |
